your fear of the word "terrorism." obama, the white house, his whole foreign policy team, they're dealing with a completely bizarre scandal related to the attacks in benghazi, driven by the fact that they spent a week after they knew this was probably a terrorist attack insisting that it was all about an anti-muslim voe and had very little to do with terror. i'm not sure what their theory is. it's part of a broader pattern where the obama white house wants to continue george w. bush's anti-terror policies, even expand them in terms of drone strikes and so on without completely acknowledging what they're doing. but in this case, it's made them look ridiculous. it seems unnecessary. >> i've lived in the middle east and in libya. and nothing that you see is as it seems. you don't have any idea who these people r. they showed up with grenade launch easy and sophisticated weapons. but in libya today, everybody's got some. >> that's fine. you don't even have to say, this is definitely terrorism. you just don't spend a week saying, well, it's all about this video that was made in sout

, and i think he's going to have to do better in the next debates. the thing we know about barack obama from every report, he's one of the most competitive people around, so i bet you the week after the next debate, we will not be having a conversation about how poorly he did but a conversation about how great he did. the bigger issue here, the republicans are going to have a tough chance because they don't really have an opportunity to spend more money on fields. you can't just dump enough money on the ground in the last month to try to turn on a field operation. that's something you have to build over weeks and months coming up to an election and there's no evidence that i have seen anywhere, i was down in tampa last weekend dealing with a lot of the obama troops, and there's no ground i have seen where republicans have really focused on the field operation. >> guys, great of you to come in on friday. have a great weekend. >>>making news, janet napolitano is on her way to arizona after the death of nicholas ivy. that's the border agent who was killed on tuesday. his funeral is set for
in the key battleground commonwealth at vmi. romney team sensing a clear hoping here against president obama with all that has happened in the middle east over the past few weeks and months, especially in libya. nia, what do you think governor romney reveals tomorrow? does he reveal anything significant? >> well, my guess is he probably won't. we've seen mitt romney give several major foreign policy speeches, one last year down in south carolina. he gave another out in nevada. of course, he had the foreign policy trip. he's obviously trying to make headway around this libya issue, which, in fact, if you read a lot of the reports coming out about the administration's handling of this, he has a real case to press against this administration in terms of the shifting reasons that the libya thing actually happened. so i think he's really going to talk not only about american exceptionalism, but also talk about america being a leader in the world and make the case that obama has not led, not been a strong leader on iran, on the middle east, the arab spring. that's what he'll do. i think the questi
think it's going to play out. the obama team obviously knows they had a poor showing in last week's debate. so they've got to gain some traction here. booiden is a really good debate. i think you'll see ryan be mr. wonky. that's his role. a lot of numbers you'll hear from him. probably more zingers from biden. i think they have some ground to make up. >> you know, i don't think a lot of people necessarily realize how much debating joe biden has done throughout the course of his career. he's run for president six or seven times. i exaggerate for effect. chair of the foreign relations committee. here's a guy who's spent a great deal of time in public in a healthy exchange of ideas. >> that's right. that's right. i think we'll see that on display. if you look back at 2008, he was probably the best debater out of the field. i think he's going to bring those skills to bear. he had a real high-wire act last time in 2008 when he had to go against sarah palin. i think he came out of that debate looking like the statesman. i think ryan has to pass the commander in chief test. i'm not sure
will turn it on like anything you have ever seen for the next five weeks. he will be the best president in history. host:next is ann, a president obama supporter. caller: good morning. i think exactly the opposite. i think mitt romney looked almost manic and his appearance. i have never seen him flailing his arms around. he told so many lies. he completely turned around all of the things he has been running on the for the past 18 months. he even through the tax policy away. he just changed everything. it was really unbelievable. i think many people looked at him being more aggressive. that is what they were rewarding. once people started paying attention to exactly why he said, they would see that his -- that he told so many lies and distorted what he was trying to say. i think the president look very presidential. he was not aggressive. he explained exactly what he wanted to say. i thought the whole purpose of the debate was for each one to explain what their policy was. romney just completely changed. that is what was so -- i guess it is not so surprising, because that is what he has
presidential in that group. we'll see how he does next to president obama which i think is a little bit different. >> yeah. >> that ohio poll is interesting because the cbs one we had last week had it at ten points. now we have another one showing it at nine points. if you start to look at the map, if he doesn't take iowa, if it gets away from him, it becomes difficult to put a puzzle together to win. >> by the way, there has been this narrative that there is the grand conspiracy and that the polls are skewed. this is what walter mondale said in 1984. this is what moveon.org said in 2004, that all the polls were skewed against john kerry and moveon.org said you just wait. and now you're hearing it frantically on the other side, which ironically, again, they are putting fox news in the grand conspiracy. >> what about the conference call today that we have to plan and organize? >> exactly. my point is here we've got a couple of local polls that are showing this, and more importantly, and you guys talk to the romney people all the time. i certainly talk to them all the time. i can tell you
